Where it all began

Leadership Training.... in a Box!

Leaderbox was founded by Monty Halls, a former Royal Marines Officer who had moved into leadership and team development after leaving the Corps 20 years ago.

His final role in the Marines was running a Reserve Detachment in Plymouth for three years, and during this period he realised the demands of delivering high quality training, in limited time periods, to universal high standards based on a common curriculum. This challenge - also prevalent in the education and business sectors - led him to create Leaderbox.

The system took several years to evolve, working closely with leadership experts, military advisors, educators, elite sports teams, and the wider business sector. The end result is a comprehensive system that delivers training based on a series of core qualities universal to all leadership models.

The key quality of Leaderbox, established from the outset, was to make the system dynamic, inclusive, fun, and progressive. The exercises, challenges, and scenarios are all designed to generate active participation, and act as practical examples of theoretical models.

The Leaderbox system was born out of the same demands and challenges facing every facilitator - how to deliver dynamic, relevant, fun, practical training in the crucial area of leadership training and development.

The system has evolved...

Initially developed as a system for schools, businesses requested a Pro version to support their Leadership and Personal Development programmes.

Monty Halls

Managing Director...
...the head poncho and minor celebrity. Monty Halls is an expedition leader, travel writer, marine biologist, documentary broadcaster, former marine, leadership trainer and inspirational speaker.
Monty has certainly 'worn the T-shirt' when it comes to Leaderbox and its development.

Mark Hale

Project Director....
...the logical one, and general brain box behind the system development. An engineer with Project Management and Educational experience, Mark has been central to the development of Leaderbox and the training courses since 2016.

Katy Parrot

instructor....
...the ambitious one. Katy is a young, creative wildlife/expedition filmmaker, having visited 40+ countries, showing her thirst for immersion in travel, culture and the unknown. In 2016 she featured in the BBC series Special Forces: Ultimate Hell Week and subsequently joined the Army Reserves.

Paul

Advisor & Instructor...
...the Royal Marine Legend. Paul has been involved with Leaderbox since its inception, providing valuable advice and guidance. Paul is now one of the over-qualified facilitators we use when providing Leaderbox Training.
